How much money can you really make as a Virtual Assistant?

I often get asked the question, “how much money can you make as a virtual assistant”. The answer, as much as you want. The beauty about the virtual assistant business is that your value isn’t tied to the amount of time that you put in. Your value is determined, by you guessed it, the actual value that YOU bring to your clients. As your skills improve, so does your income. 

When I first started out my business, I was charging my clients $30/ hour. As I learned more about this business, what my clients need, and better ways to optimize my client’s businesses, I raised my prices to over $50/hour. 

Being a virtual assistant means I run my own company. That means I set my own prices, decide the value of the work that I do, and how much of that work I want to take on. I know many people who want to simply supplement their income, so they work part time every month to make that additional income. I know other people who wanted to turn this into their full time income, and have grown their VA businesses into a 7 figure business. 

If you want to make money as a virtual assistant, you need to believe that you are worth that money. You also need to believe that people will pay you for the work that you do. Most importantly, you need to put in the work. I will not say that this is easy work, because it isn’t. When you are first starting your business it can be really stressful trying to understand the ins and outs, figuring out taxes, finding new clients, and streamlining your process. But if you keep working at it, you can earn a lot in this industry. 

So if you want to know how much money you can make as a VA, there is no consistent amount. The amount is determined by the value of your work, how much you value yourself, and how much time you are willing to invest in your business.
